The Similis Cory Catfish, also known as the Smudge Spot or Violet Cory, is an uncommon Corydoras species prized for the deep violet tones it develops as it matures. Native to Brazil, this peaceful and animated schooling fish is highly sought after for nano, community, and planted aquariums. When kept in groups, it displays beautiful synchronized movement and constant bottom-level activity.

A classic scavenger, Corydoras similis prefers sand or smooth gravel to protect its delicate barbels. Easy to care for and adaptable, it readily accepts dry, frozen, and live foods. While generally shrimp safe, very small dwarf shrimp may be at risk.
