Kusuri Fluke M is a highly effective flubendazole-based medication (50mg/g) designed to eradicate gill flukes and body flukes in pond fish. It is a trusted treatment among koi and ornamental fish keepers due to its strong parasite control while remaining safe for biological filter bacteria.
Fluke M works by being absorbed directly by the flukes, where it dissolves their digestive system, ultimately starving and eliminating the parasite. Unlike harsh treatments such as Malachite Green or Formalin, Kusuri Fluke M is non-invasive and gentle on fish when used correctly. Fish can continue to be fed during treatment, and the medication can be used at any water temperature, although best results are achieved above 12°C.
This treatment remains active in pond water for up to 7 days, making it ideal as a single-dose solution. In cases of heavy infestation, a second dose may be required after 7 days. Kusuri recommends confirming parasite presence with a mucus scrape and microscope examination before repeating treatment. Alternatively, Kusuri Fluke P or Fluke S may be used after 7 days.
If fish show signs of excessive mucus production, pre-treatment with Chloramine T (15g per 1000 gallons) 12–24 hours before dosing Fluke M can help reduce the mucus layer, allowing better medication penetration. Caution is required in soft or acidic water, as Chloramine T can be toxic under these conditions.
