The Reticulated Hillstream Loach is a unique and fascinating freshwater fish known for its flattened body and beautiful maze-like reticulated pattern. Often compared to a “freshwater stingray,” this species is specially adapted to fast-flowing streams where it uses its large pectoral fins to cling to rocks and surfaces. It is highly valued in aquariums for both its appearance and its ability to graze on algae.

This peaceful bottom-dweller thrives in well-oxygenated aquariums with strong water movement, smooth rocks, and plenty of surfaces for grazing. It is an excellent addition to community aquariums with other peaceful fish and works well in planted tanks with moderate to strong flow.
